The distance of a bike tour may vary between 20 and 150 kilometers (12-90 miles) daily. Pro cyclists can ride up to 300 (190 miles) kilometers per day, and there are a few ultra endurance riders on Earth who can bike even more during a day but that’s not our cup of tea. Similarly to the duration of your bike tour, if you are a beginner, start with a 20 kilometers (12 miles) bike tour, and start to increase the distance on the next day or on another bike tour.
There are many other things that you should be aware of. One of the most important is the weather. On a cold or an especially warm day you won’t be able to ride as much as on an average summer day. Another important circumstance is the geography of your route. If there is a lot of uphills on your route, you will get tired faster. If your route is completely flat, your energy will last longer.
Anyway, we always suggest to start with shorter tours and start to increase systematically, e.g. increase your next tour by 10 kilometers until you feel you reached your limit. In this case you can ensure that the distance will grow with your experience and you will like cycling better from day to day.
